Werner Herzog’s movie “Grizzly Man” is in my view one of the great documentaries ever, maybe one of the greatest movies ever.

Herzog’s documentary profiles Timothy Treadwell, an Alaskan environmentalist who communed with the grizzly bears in their habitat for thirteen years. Treadwell shot 100 hours of footage of himself.

Herzog uses voiceover and interviewees to praise and criticize Treadwell as a madman, an activist, an artist, and a nature-lover.

This video discusses the basics of the movie and why it’s great. I’ll discuss philosophy and psychology, giving you ways to think about this great documentary.
